Exposure to PbAc resulted in a significant upregulation in the mRNA expression levels of Bax and Caspase-3 and an increased Bax/Bcl-2 ratio. Additionally, a substantial decrease in Bcl-2 expression was observed compared to the sham group. The treatment with 10-HDA, ZnONPs, and their combination led to a marked restoration of Bax and Caspase-3 expression. These interventions also significantly improved Bcl-2 expression and the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio. Notably, the combined treatment exhibited a more pronounced enhancement of Bcl-2 expression compared to the individual treatments.
